Could you introduce your label?
Hello Deather, how are you doing? I finally got some time to do this interview for your magazine. I really appreciate it you give some attention to my label and bands which are on FADELESS RECORDS.
The idea to start a label was going around in my head for a few years. But I finally started the whole thing about 4 years ago when I got the chance to sign CEREMONIUM. I thought let's just ask them and see what they say. The answer was positive and I started the whole thing. It took some time before the first CD came out, because CEREMONIUM had some trouble with the studios. But finally, in September 1995, my first CD was released.
In my opinion there are a lot of bands in the scene nowadays who really deserve a good deal. FADELESS is absolutely not a trendy label. I support bands who keep their roots going over the years. It doesn't matter what kind of music style the play, Death or Black metal. If I like the band, I try to fix a good record deal.
Are you alone or you have some helpers?
I run FADELESS on my own. Sometime it is hard, and I don't have any free time left. I do all my work for FADELESS in my spare time, cause I do have a 40 hours job too. I really need the money from that. I would really like to have FADELESS as my full time job, so I'm working very hard to achieve that some day. It's very hard doing everything by yourself. But this way I can do what I want. Sometimes Harold from MANGLED helps me out.
I think you love death metal, so why you have released the CD of CEREMONIUM?
Yeah, you are totally right about that! Death Metal is number one for me. But of course I also care about other music styles. I listen to Black Metal, Grindcore, Atmospheric music, etc...
I really like the atmosphere from CEREMONIUM. That's why I signed them. I think it was a good debut release from FADELESS.
How is your loud of your CDs?
All the bands on FADELESS RECORDS are from a very high quality! Good musicians, and good music, bands who deserve more attention! I'm very dainty with signing new bands. For only those reasons it's more than worth to check the FADELESS releases out.
You're quite small label, but well-know, how much time and money you give to FADELESS? Do you pay to the bands also mastering, studio...?
FADELESS is a pure small underground label. But I'm growing day by day. I think FADELESS has a pretty good name in the underground scene nowadays. And I'm very happy with this. I do all my work for FADELESS in my spare time as I told you before in question 2. I put a lot of money in FADELESS, and that's really necessary if you wanna reach something. If try to make a very fair deal for both sides. FADELESS will pay almost everything including a studio budbet.
What are your plans to release to the end of this year?
I'll release the debut CD from my ex-band MANGLED. This cool disc will be out in August this year. Ten excellent tracks of Brutal Grave Rock will bring you back to the times of the ancient Roman (un)civilisation.
After this I'll do the second album from the Death Metal gods VOMITORY. This killer CD will be out in the end of 1998.
Do you like some CZ or SK bands?
I know there is a very strong Death/ Grind scene in Slovakia and Czech Republic. I receive a lot of promo's from over there. There are some real cool bands like: DEMENTOR, DEPRESY, KRABATHOR, TORTHARRY to name a few.
Do you like some IN DEED HELL - why?
Yeah, of course I like your magazine. I always support magazines who are into Death Metal. And you know I like your drawings.
And what are the conditions for the release of your bands?
As I told you before, I'm looking for quality bands. And of course they must play the metal I like. In my opinion there are a lot of bands in the scene nowadays who really deserve a good deal.
