Když se totiž gramodeska vysune z přebalu, nejdříve připomene podivnou okružní pilu a až na druhý pohled je jasné, že jde o hudební nosič. (úsměv) Takže jsem desku pouštěl s očekáváním čehosi extrémního, podobného RABIES, když už spolu kapely splitkují. A začátek dával očekáváním za pravdu – první skladba sice začíná kratičkým psychedelickým flétnovým motivem, ale záhy se rozjede zběsile rychlá divočina trvající... několik sekund. Řvou v ní dva jedinci, pán a slečna; oba opravdu "řvou" a mně to přijde jako mix GRIDE a EVIDENCE SMRTI. V druhé skladbě pocit týkající se GRIDE přetrvává v těch extrémních nářeznických místech a v refrénu, ale přechází se i k houpavým odlehčeným pasážím a kapela tak pozvolna vystupuje z jedné škatulky. A v Tam kdesi v dáli jde ještě dál, větší prostor dostává flétnistka i ty houpavé rytmy, zpěvačka i "zpívá" (uvozovky značí, že zpěv je to hodně specifický, možná prohnaný nějakými mašinkami) a stylově lze mluvit o avantgardním běsu. (úsměv) A v podobném alternativním duchu se jede i dál, zpestřujících momentů přibývá, včetně parodického ženského i mužského zpěvu, odlehčené pasáže se střídají s corovým nářezem, občas zazní nějaké úryvky z mně neznámých filmů (nebo čeho?), ozve se i piano, prostě pořád se něco zajímavého děje. Závěrečná skladba si nebere servítky a šije se v ní do takové ikony, jako byl Václav Havel. Ostřejší slova na adresu bývalého prezidenta byla napsána a zhudebněna ještě za jeho života, tudíž nelze kapelu podezírat z nějakého plánovaného kontroverzního zviditelňování se.
RABIES jsou o poznání sevřenější. Měl jsem s nimi tu čest na koncertu, kde během dvaceti minut vystřihli dvacet vypalovaček, takže jsem dopředu věděl, do čeho jdu. A očekávání byla v podstatě beze zbytku naplněna. RABIES jsou extrém v rámci extrému, extrém na druhou v rámci tvrdé muziky a extrém na třetí v rámci hudby. (úsměv) Za deset minut odpalují patnáct obdobných náloží postavených na základech, kterými jsou zběsilá rychlost a frenetický řev. Nevím, jak přesně kapelu stylově zařadit, ale nejspíš jde o "speedhardcore". Bubeník je taky poloviční blázen (úsměv), protože to mydlí jak pneumatické kladivo, a ani strunní pánové své nástroje nešetří.
Texty obou kapel jsou sice stylové, ale rozhodně ne pitomé. U RABIES bych viděl paralelu z již několikrát zmiňovanými GRIDE, ale to bude nejspíš tím, že se v těchto sférách příliš neorientuju – takže třeba se "tady" prostě takhle textuje... Ono není žádná legrace napsat smysluplný text do skladby trvající pod minutu – a tady se to daří. Texty nutí k zamyšlení – nejsou samozřejmě vůbec veselé a zabývají se osamělostí, honbou za majetkem, společenskými zlořády atd. S.U.S.U.! jsou na podobné lodi, ale pisatelův styl je trochu jiný; ani lepší, ani horší, prostě jiný... (úsměv) Vedle análního alpinismu, apatie, nenalézání smyslu života a netečnosti vůči cizímu neštěstí tu je prostor i pro frajírky v rychlých autech (končících kdesi pod stromy) a taky toho Havla: "Děkuji ti Václave, děkuji ti Havle, do konce svých dnů snad už raději mlč!"
Obal se mi moc nelíbí – je sice v duchu ideálů "udělej si sám", a pak to podle toho, hlavně v případě strany RABIES, vypadá... Mně se kresba na gramofonové desce zavěšeného mládence do vkusu netrefuje. O něco lépe dopadla strana S.U.S.U.!, na které je něco na způsob emblému, v němž se nachází logo kapely. Vnitřní obaly jsou dokonce dva. První, který mají interpreti společný, obsahuje na záložce loga všech vydavatelů (jeden je až z exotických Filipín), hlavní list pak na jedné straně přináší informace o RABIES (seznam skladeb, sestavu...) a na druhé straně texty S.U.S.U.! Další list pak obsahuje texty RABIES; takže chybí sestava S.U.S.U! a když na ty dva listy z tvrdého papíru koukám, taky by neuškodila trocha přemýšlení a trocha grafického "uvědomění" – protože by se všechny (i ty chybějící) informace vešly na jeden přeložený vnitřňák.
Obě party nahrávaly loni na podzim v Hellsoundu, tudíž zvuk je v pohodě a netřeba se obávati nějakého "bordelu".
Ač nejsem žádný extra příznivec podobných zběsilostí, nakonec mě poslech tohohle zubatého batikovaného vinylu docela pobavil a vlastně jsem mile překvapený, protože jsem čekal o poznání méně zajímavý materiál. O kousek víc mě chytili S.U.S.U!, ale ani RABIES nezklamali. Solidní věc, navíc moc pěkná na pohled... takže dlužená odpověď je "ne".
Pozn.: Kdyby split vyšel na CD, dal bych 6 bodů, ten sedmý je za ten přepychový vyřezávaný barevný vinyl.
