Conflicting reports have surfaced online regarding AC/DC’s future.

Australian radio station 3AW’s Breakfast Entertainment Reporter, Peter Ford, stated that the legendary Aussie rock’n'roll band will never be touring or recording again, stating: “My information is that Malcolm Young, one of the founding members of the group, has in recent times returned to Australia to live with his family and for his own personal reasons he may not want to continue with the band.”

The news follows the postponement of AC/DC recording new material, due to one of the band members being seriously ill – a fact which singer Brian Johnson stated on the Cowhead radio show back in February. “One of the boys is a little sick and I can’t say anything, but he’s getting better,” he said at the time.

Molly Meldrum, a music industry guru, then told 3AW Mornings that there have been health problems with some of the band members, but he hopes that reports of Malcolm Young’s illness aren’t true. Listen to the full conversation here.

However, a different report later surfaced, stating that AC/DC have booked studio time for their next album – in fact, they’ll apparently be recording in Vancouver for six weeks, starting May 1, according to The Australian.

The band’s label declined to comment – we’ll keep you posted as and when more information comes in.
