REIGNCARNATION - Liquideyesed - review PROMO CD - CD 2003

Reigncarnation is a young and quite promising band hailing from Cracow, Poland. "Liquideyesed" is their first effort, recorded in the Fall of 2003. It consists of four tracks and a bonus PC video. Their music is obviously inspired by such bands as Death, Slayer and maybe in some part Morbid Angel, but doesn't lack some interesting and quite innovative arrangements and electronics. Unfortunately, due to the flood of young Polish bands playing in this genre, Reigncarnation doesn't stand out much among others, when speaking of riffs and overall, quasi-technical approach to death metal. It doesn't mean that their music is bad - it's just because of the small percentage of experiments contained in songs. Hopefully, their desire to look for a new path in creating sounds is quite audible, and we can wish for a future release. There are only two things which make it difficult for me to be fully content when listening to this promo cd. First of all, the sound quality isn't very good. It is mainly because of the low bu get collected for the recording process. There's no need to worry, however - each instrument is in it's own place and you can hear it easilly. The thing is that this recording is missing probably the most important thing - the dynamics, so important for this kind of playing. The other thing, much worse, is the drummer and his wishful desire to become the 2nd Sean Reinert (Cynic, Death, now in Gordian Knot), without any practice. I personally don't see any sense in complicating the measure, if one cannot keep the steady pace in easier parts. Luckily, the organised guitar work covers this part with a very good outcome. Interesting solos and harmonics make it pleasing for the ear. I would personally reccomend this material to all the people interested in fresh blood Polish death metal. Let's hope Reigncarnation  will sign a deal and record an interesting full-length release in the near future. In the meantime, you can visit their website at www.reigncarnation.prv.pl
